Through this, I enrolled onto the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship at Preston College, whilst also being employed as a member of staff in the HR/Payroll Department as a Payroll Clerk. This opportunity has allowed me to make my career change successfully. The Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship has provided me with both practical and academic knowledge which has progressed and widened my skillset within the education industry. The new skills I have learnt from this course can also be taken to a wide variety of roles throughout the College and are very transferable. The delivery of the course from the College tutors has been to a very high standard, and I have always felt supported by the tutors and my colleagues throughout my time on the course. I’ve begun handling my own fixes at work, which means I can now operate independently in a professional and safe manner whenever needed.”

“Doing an Engineering Technician Level 3 apprenticeship is the best decision I could have made for my career. This is only my first year on the course, but I have learnt and grown massively already and I’m sure that will continue. I started off at Baxi in the stainless steel plant as a temporary worker, until I was offered a permanent contract a few months later. I stayed there for a year before this apprenticeship opportunity in the Auto Press shop came along and I didn’t hesitate to apply. I’m lucky enough to have a fantastic manager and mentors who give me excellent support and guidance. This allows me to develop new skills and to face any challenges that come my way.”
