T-Level and Industry Placements

Industry placements are essentially work experience opportunities for a young person to develop first-hand experience of the world of work. There are a range of options to suit businesses with a regular day a week or a number of full-time weeks.

Industry placements are a core component of T-Levels, designed to give young people meaningful, practical experience in the workplace. These placements allow students to apply the skills and knowledge they have learned in the classroom to real-life situations, helping them become work-ready and better prepared for future employment or further training.

Typically lasting a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days), placements can be arranged in a variety of formats to suit the needs of the business. This could include one or two days per week over several months, a block of full-time weeks, or a combination of both. The flexible structure is intended to support employers of all sizes, across all sectors, in providing valuable experience without disrupting day-to-day operations.

For employers, offering a T-Level industry placement is a great way to develop young talent, gain fresh perspectives, and contribute to shaping the future workforce. For students, it’s an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into a specific industry, build confidence, and develop the technical and interpersonal skills that employers value.
