Higher Education Careers Guidance

Students have the opportunity to attend external events such as The Lancashire Apprenticeship Expo, UCAS Convention and The Skills Show, depending on their level of study. They also have the opportunity to attend HE subject related taster sessions and open days at local universities.

All level 3 students attend a suite of career sessions so they are supported in making an informed decision about their next steps. These sessions include:

  • Progression Options at 18
  • How to do effective HE research
  • How to write a personal statement
  • UCAS apply and Student Finance talks.

In addition, students receive regular input from HE providers and employers during tutorial sessions, including higher and degree apprenticeship providers.

All students have the opportunity to attend the UK University and Apprenticeship search fair where they can speak to a wide variety of Universities and apprenticeship providers.

The Job Zone service at Preston’s College is a professional apprenticeship matching service, designed to match the right candidate to the right apprenticeship. We are the largest apprenticeship provider in the local area.
