INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Duration: 10 Weeks

This course is designed for those who own a digital camera but do not understand why their photographs do not turn out how they expected.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

On this course you will focus on the following areas:

Introduction to DSLR Cameras

  • Exposure triangle
  • Aperture priority
  • Shutter priority
  • ISO
  • Exposure compensation

Introduction to Photoshop Skills

  • Red eye removal
  • Spot/blemish removal

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

There is no formal assessment on this course but you will be encouraged by the tutor to keep a portfolio of handouts, notes and examples of your work to show the progress you have made.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

You could simply use the new techniques you have learnt by taking clearer pictures of a higher quality in your daily life or you may wish to pursue your interest of photography on a higher level course. You will be able to discuss this further with your tutor.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

You will need to bring along your own digital camera (with a charged battery), the camera manual, a pen, paper, and a simple folder to each lesson. You may also be required to print some of your pictures to include in your portfolio.
