In addition to the Level 1 qualification, there is an opportunity for some learners to gain their CSCS card, whilst on the course.
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
As a painting and decorating learner at Preston’s College, you will perfect your skills in purpose built workshops, where each learner has dedicated, personal work panels to work with, many of which reflect small rooms within the home. The workshop replicates a live, working environment, providing a real flavour of what life in industry is like. In addition, the vast majority of time on the course is spent in the workshop, as this is a highly practical course.
The size of the workshop allows a range of learners and apprentices to work together at the same time, meaning all learners get to experience what life in industry will be like, whilst also seeing a variety of work levels.
As our on-site facilities reflect industry working practices, you will be required to purchase and wear suitable PPE, including work boots and overalls or clothes that you do not mind getting dirty – painting and decorating can be a messy job!
