Health and Safety in Construction Trades
Working and Communicating Effectively in Construction
The nature of the Level 1 Wall and Floor Tiling course means that this is a very practical programme. All work is undertaken in the purpose-built workshops but to pass the course, you need to complete and submit a workbook.
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
As a wall and floor tiling learner at Preston’s College, you will perfect your skills in practical workshops consisting of purpose-built pods. The pods house everything needed to complete the course, including walls, steps and beading. Each learner will have access to their own pod, for the duration of their time on the course.
This is a highly practical course, with all learning taking place in the workshop. Theory is embedded into the course and delivered on a 1-2-1 basis, as learners progress throughout the programme. There are no exams to sit, but learners must complete a workbook to pass the course.
All equipment is provided but guidance is provided throughout the course, should learners wish to purchase their own.
The course provides opportunities away from the workshop to visit equipment suppliers and tile stores, as well as opportunities to hear from relevant guest speakers.
As our on-site facilities reflect industry working practices, you will be required to wear old clothes that you are happy to get dirty – tiling can be a messy job
