This qualification is designed for a wide range of learners who wish to understand the approaches to care and support of those with mental health problems.
This qualification aims to raise awareness of the role of the mental health worker and the processes and approaches involved in the care and support of those who experience mental ill-health.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
As part of this Level 2 Certificate you will study a range of key topics, including:
Understanding the role of the mental health worker
Mental health and mental health issues
Understanding duty of care in adult health and social care
Approaches to care and management in mental health
Understanding change and support in relation to mental health
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
Teaching will take place in the classroom here at Preston College.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
All modules will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: a portfolio of evidence, written assignments (workbooks) or set tasks.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Upon successful completion you may choose to progress onto another short course here at Preston College, such as Awareness of Dementia Level 2 Award or Common Health Conditions Level 2.
You must be able to evidence that you can work at Level 1 or above in English. You may also find it helpful to have already achieved a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in a Health and Social Care related field.
