ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN LEADERSHIP PRACTICE - LEVEL 5 AWARD

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Through this qualification, you will develop your understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its application within leadership and organisational practice.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
This qualification is delivered on-site at Preston College, providing dedicated time away from the day-to-day demands of your role to focus on your leadership and professional development, with a particular emphasis on the responsible use of AI.
Through tutor-led sessions, discussion, practical activities and shared learning with other practising managers and leaders, you will explore contemporary AI developments and consider their implications within real workplace and leadership environments.
The course combines leadership principles with practical application, encouraging you to explore how AI could be used within your own organisation while critically considering governance, risk, ethics, security and human oversight.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
You will complete assessment activity throughout the qualification, providing opportunities to demonstrate your understanding of responsible AI leadership and apply your learning to relevant workplace and organisational situations.
You will build a portfolio of evidence enabling you to demonstrate your knowledge, critical thinking and ability to consider the opportunities, responsibilities and risks associated with the use of AI in leadership practice.

Successful completion of this qualification can support continued professional development and progression into further leadership, management, digital transformation or AI-related study.
The knowledge developed through the programme can also support managers and leaders who are taking greater responsibility for AI adoption, digital transformation, governance, organisational decision-making and the management of people and teams within increasingly AI-enabled workplaces.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
This is a leadership-focused rather than technical AI qualification. You do not need to be an AI specialist or have advanced technical knowledge to benefit from the programme.
The focus is on developing the knowledge and judgement required to understand how AI can be used effectively and responsibly within a leadership context. You will have opportunities to reflect on your own organisation and leadership practice, challenge your thinking and explore contemporary issues surrounding AI, including governance, ethics, security, risk, bias and human accountability.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You will complete a Skills Scan before starting the programme to ensure the qualification is appropriate for your experience and development needs.
You should normally have management or leadership responsibilities, or relevant experience that will enable you to engage with Responsible Leadership with Artificial Intelligence concepts at Level 5. The qualification is particularly suitable if you are looking to progress into middle or more senior management responsibilities.
