Performing & Production Arts at Level 3 allows you to specialise and become a member of either the Actor Training Academy or the Musical Theatre Training Academy. The qualifications you achieve are designed to provide you with the opportunity to explore, develop and test your creativity within a qualification structure which is stimulating, demanding and provides a supportive transition from general to more specialised study.

The course is also suitable for learners who have an interest in performing arts who would like to develop their wider employability skills including acting, singing, performing, teamwork, self-confidence, organisational skills, reliability, creativity, resilience and self-reflection.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

The emphasis of this course is on training for a successful career in Performing and Production Arts, or other career pathways. You will take part in a range of public and workshop style performances and train in relevant genres for each course level and pathway which may include: Acting for stage; Acting for screen; Movement; Singing; Dance; and Directing.

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

You will be taught by industry specialists and gather evidence towards your qualification within realistic working scenarios. The College boasts a state-of-the-art training suite, including a fully functional theatre. There are usually opportunities to audition and perform off site to give you experience of other venues and industry practices.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through coursework, portfolio of evidence and practical projects.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COURSE COST?

You will have opportunities to go on trips at a cost and study will include weekend and evening work.

The course is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to access and progress to drama school, degree level study or employment in performing arts by making you THE MOST employable in the industry. Possible career progression routes include:

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

Please refer to our ATA and MTTA prospectuses for further information. There are opportunities for national and international trips, and study will sometimes include weekend and evening work.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need five GCSEs at grade 4 including Maths or English. There is an audition process, and details of this will be sent to you once you have applied online.
