Our Multi Skills in Construction programme is the first step to gaining a recognised qualification in the construction industry. It aims to give an insight into a number of different vocational areas, enabling you to experience a wide range of construction skills and knowledge. This course is ideal for those who are looking to start their career in an innovative and vibrant industry, but may be unsure of which pathway to take in construction. It is also ideal for those who are already in industry employment and wish to upskill in construction trades, by learning how to carry out basic maintenance tasks around the building site.

What will I learn?

You will learn a wide range of skills to carry out basic construction skills in the industry, including:

  • Bricklaying
  • Plastering
  • Painting & Decorating
  • Painting Techniques
  • Basic Plumbing Skills
  • Health & Safety in Construction
  • Joinery

How will I be taught?

This course will be delivered in our state-of-the-art facilities, designed to give you a real life experience of industry work. You will work in various construction environments within our workshops. You will be taught through practical demonstrations by our industry experienced tutors.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a series of practical assessments and the completion of a course handbook.

What can I do next?

On completion of the course, you will have the skills and knowledge to progress on to one of our Level 2 Construction Trade courses.

Is there anything else I need to know?

The course also includes the opportunity to get a free CSCS card, which provides that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out. This is optional, however if you wish to progress into industry employment, this is a necessity.
