The course will enable you to learn a wide range of skills including financial control and investments, organisational structures, control processes and developing a customer focussed business. This course covers the following modules: Business & Maths Statistics; Marketing; Principles of Quality Management; Project Management; Business Management Techniques; Management in Industry; Quality Management, and Project Management Applications.
The weekly sessions will involve practical tasks in seminars and written coursework given as regular assignments. Teaching varies from lectures to class-based learning with both theoretical and practical sessions included as part of the course.
The course includes both written and practical based assessments including writing essays, reports and case studies alongside participating in class exercises, practical tasks and delivering presentations.
You can progress to management based courses at university. Access to university courses such as a BA Degree in Business Studies and a Diploma in Management Studies is normally by interview at the university. Alternatively you can progress to employment.

This qualification is awarded by the University of Derby subject to validation. The course sessions run at Preston’s College Fulwood Campus, subject to a minimum of 6 people.
You should have 1-2 years appropriate work experience and complete a successful interview. Preferably you will have a Level 3 qualification and GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above.
