Industry Placements
As you will hear in most of the course videos, there is often a requirement to complete work experience as part of our Health and Social Care programmes. This can be done in a setting that is relevant to Health and Social Care and also aligned to your career goals and aspirations.
Whilst a work placement is not mandatory on all adult courses (please check individual course requirements), as many of our former learners and employers explain, gaining any form of sector specific work experience can often prove invaluable on both a learning and professional employment level.
Universities really value work experience and are keen to hear not only what you have done and learnt but also how you have related classroom learning to the workplace, in UCAS statements and in course interviews. Equally, if you are hoping to completely career change or upskill within the sector, the more relevant experience you have, the more you will be able to demonstrate and discuss in job interviews.
