When you apply to Preston’s College, your application will reach our dedicated adult recruitment team. The team will handle all aspects of your application and enrolment, until your first day with us.
Our Adviser, Julie, will receive your online application and make contact with you to undertake a telephone interview. This will ensure that the course you have applied for is the appropriate programme and level of study. Julie will speak to you about your chosen course, as well as the entry criteria and progression opportunities available upon successful completion. Her experience in providing advice and guidance will ensure that you are on the right course to help you achieve your goals.
AAT Tutor – Level 1
Shirley qualified with AAT in the early 1990’s, whilst working for Lancashire County Council.
Studying for a PGCE in September 2008, Shirley joined Preston’s College as part of her placement and, upon successful completion of the course, began working at Preston’s College part-time, whilst also working for the Council.
Becoming a full-time member of teaching staff in 2015, Shirley now teaches across all levels of AAT, with particular focus on the Level 1 and Level 2 provision.
AAT Tutor – Level 2
Kaye spent 25 years practising as a Chartered Account in the private sector before moving into lecturing and has spent the last ten years teaching at Preston’s College.
Maintaining her links with industry, Kaye continues to work part-time alongside her teaching role, working with small limited companies and specialising in key areas of accounting, including Personal Tax, Payroll and VAT.
AAT Tutor – Level 3
Gina has 25 years’ experience in Further Education having taught accountancy and business studies at a variety of colleges in the North West.
Beginning her career, having
gained a BA (Hons) Accounting, as an auditor, Gina then progressed into finance roles in industry and then into teaching.
She also holds a Masters qualification.
AAT Tutor – Level 4
Studing Accountancy from A-Level, Huz progressed onto a BA (Hons) Accountancy at UCLan before commencing employment at a local
charted accountancy firm. Gaining valuable industry experience, Huz returned to education to study a PGCE.
Beginning his current role of Accountancy Lecturer upon successful completion of his PGCE, Huz has taught at various Further Education Colleges for the past 10 years and has been at Preston’s College for the last three.
