Supported Internship Open Event – Thursday 26 February, 5-6.30pm

Join us at Preston College’s Theatre and Atrium to learn more about our Supported Internship programmes, designed for young people aged 18–24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who are preparing to move into paid employment.

Supported Internships are academic year-long programmes that centre on real, meaningful work experience with an employer. Interns develop essential workplace skills through hands-on learning in a host business, supported by an experienced onsite team from Preston College.

At the open event you can:

  • Meet past and current interns to learn about their experience first-hand.
  • Speak to the Supported Internship teams based at Lancashire County Council and Lancashire Constabulary.
  • Learn about the employers we work with how placements are carefully matched to each intern’s interests, strengths and career goals.
  • Meet the Disabilty Employment Advisor from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) for personalised advice on benefits, including how work and benefits can operate together.
  • Attend a short presentation offering an overview of Supported Internships (5.30pm start).
