Travel & Tourism and Events Management

Travel & Tourism and Events Management is an area with a vast amount of different jobs roles and opportunities. You can work anywhere in the world in a variety of settings including travel agencies, airports, hotels, holiday resorts and visitor attractions such as theme parks, zoos and stately homes. In terms of events you could be organising small scale fundraisers, conferences, festivals or weddings. Both sectors are customer facing so you’ll need to be good with people and have great communication skills.

At Preston College you will have opportunities to go on various trips, work experience placements and visits from guest speakers working in the industry. These enrichment and extra-curricular activities are built into your Study Programme to enhance university applications and CVs.

Below you’ll find an introduction from Head of School, Fiona, followed by an overview of the course and levels from tutor Helen. Beneath that are unique insights from people within the industry, detailing their career paths and how their qualifications helped them get to where they are today.
