After successfully completing the Level 1 Construction Multi Skills course, Naomi returned to Preston College ready to build on her practical skills and explore a new career path.
While working in an administrative role, Naomi wanted to challenge herself and discover whether a career in the trades could be right for her. By enrolling on the Level 2 Diploma in Property Maintenance, she developed practical skills across a range of disciplines and uncovered a talent for hands-on work. Today she has a clear ambition to specialise in heritage property repair and maintenance.
Alongside gaining industry skills, the course has helped Naomi grow in confidence and discover a way of learning that plays to her strengths. The practical nature of the course has enabled her to focus on one task at a time, supporting her in managing her ADHD while building a rewarding new future.
Reflecting on her experience, Naomi said:
“The adult courses at Preston College are second to none, and it makes a huge difference to learn somewhere you feel valued as an individual.”
Naomi’s journey shows that it’s never too late to change direction. By embracing new challenges and learning new skills, she’s discovered a career that reflects her passion, plays to her strengths and has opened the door to new opportunities.
