Preston College is delighted to offer a suite of Level 2 NVQs in construction trades, available exclusively to those already working within the construction industry.
These nationally recognised qualifications allow you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge within the construction industry, and have your existing skills formally assessed and accredited.
Successful completion can be achieved in as little as six months, helping to enhance your earning potential, improve employment prospects, and support your application for a blue CSCS skilled worker card.
If you live in Lancashire (or a non-devolved local authority) and are currently working in the construction industry, with at least three years’ trade experience, you may be eligible to study at a reduced cost or even free, depending on your individual circumstances. Further details on funding eligibility can be found below.
Assessment is predominantly carried out in your workplace, through on-site observations, allowing you to demonstrate your competence in a working environment. In addition, you will be supported throughout by an assigned industry-experienced tutor, a bespoke work plan tailored to your role and experience, and ongoing guidance to ensure you achieve your qualification efficiently and confidently.
Employers are also encouraged to support staff through these industry-recognised qualifications to professionally develop and retain key staff members. If your business is CITB registered, you may be eligible to claim funding towards training costs upon successful completion.
