We all need maths in everyday life and functional skills qualifications helps you to learn it in a way that makes it real and relevant to everyone. Whilst you might not have enjoyed maths at school, our experienced tutors will support you to learn the maths skills needed for your next steps in life, work and study.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Functional skills means learning the maths that you need to survive in the real world and developing the maths skills that you need to be able to use on a daily basis. This will include not just the basic numeracy skills but also how to calculate change, work out what bank statements mean, learn about metric units of measurement and many more skills that we all need.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Assessment will occur throughout the course and there will be end tests, which will lead to you achieving a qualification at the level studied.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Progression to the next level of Functional Skills or GCSE (from Level 2). The qualifications achieved can also enable you to enrol for other courses or enhance your employment prospects.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?
You can study Functional Skills Maths only or combine it with another programme of study, depending on your individual circumstances.
The course lasts 12 weeks, however, you will need to attend twice a week.
