This course has been designed for those looking to progress in the computing sector, and offers a qualification that is equivalent to two A Levels.
The qualification allows you to develop a significant core of knowledge in Computer and Information Systems and is ideal for those already working in the sector, looking to both progress and secure a qualification which evidences already held knowledge and skill.
The nature of this qualification means assessment is undertaken via internally assessed work only, there are no examinations to sit as part of this course.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
As part of this course you will study three mandatory units, consisting of:
Communication and Employability Skills for IT
The course also requires all learners to study three optional modules in a host of topic areas.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Assessment on this course is done by way of internally assessed work. There are no examinations to sit as part of this qualification.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Upon completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area, including higher level study. The qualification carries UCAS points, so may be accepted by higher education providers for progression onto higher level study. Before embarking upon this course, you should check individual university entry requirements for your chosen degree.
Alternatively, you may wish to use the qualification to progress into a higher level position within employment.
No prior study of the sector is required to study on this course, but you should normally have a range of achievement at Level 2, in GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
