SUICIDE AWARENESS - LEVEL 2 AWARD

This programme provides an awareness of the scale and context of suicide within the UK. It also provide insight into the associated stigma and the core risk factors, allowing you to gain more knowledge surrounding preventable suicides.

The programme focuses on coping strategies and positive, solution focussed responses, as well as suicide risks and triggers. It also encompass the effects of stressful situations on an individual’s wellbeing and how an individual’s outlook may impact on their susceptibility to suicidal thoughts.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

As part of the course you will study a selection of modules, including:

  • Understanding Suicide
  • Understanding different Stressful situations an individual may face
  • Stress, vulnerability and ability to cope
  • Stressful situations and impact on mental health
  • Indicators of the level of risk of suicide and signposting

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

The course is delivered online as evening study.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Throughout the course you will be required to participate in task assessments during delivery. These could include workbooks, professional discussions, written assignments, set tasks and more.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

You should have a genuine interest in learning more about this subject. This can be from a personal perspective or as an employee in a relevant field seeking CPD opportunities.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You must be able to evidence that you can work at Level 1 or above in English.
