The HNC Project and Quality Management will improve your ability to support others in project delivery and is ideal for those looking to develop their careers. Studying six modules throughout the course, you will learn how to plan, manage and control a project, including scope, quality, scheduling, budget, resourcing and risk. The course also covers project management tools and techniques, marketing, principles of quality management, the legislative environment and business maths and statistics, alongside stakeholder engagement.
Will real focus on a variety of management techniques and the applications required to plan and implement tasks, successful completion of this HNC will allow you to translate and apply theory to practical work solutions for a host of businesses.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Over the two year programme, you will study six modules, three per year, totalling 120 credits in:
Stakeholder Engagement and Communications
Project Legislative Environment
Marketing (Product Development and Launch)
Project Management (Tools and Techniques)
Principles of Quality Management
Business Maths and Statistics
HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?
This HNC is taught using a variety of methods, including traditional lectures, video presentations, case studies, role play, tutorials and class and group discussions.
Teaching and learning styles will vary from module to module but you will also have access to our virtual learning environment, Canvas, for additional resources, to support your studies.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Assessment methods vary throughout the programme and include both formative and summative assessments.
Formative assessments will comprise of class activities and practical tasks such as presentations, whilst summative assessment will be made up of a range of assignments and examinations.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
Upon successful completion of the course, you may choose to progress onto the HND Project and Quality Management at Preston College. Upon successful completion of the HND, you may choose to enter year three of the BA (Hons) Business and Management qualification at UCLan, to achieve a full degree.

Additional requirements: 3-4 years of industry experience is desirable
Preston College operates a flexible admissions policy, welcoming applicants with a wide range of qualifications and/or experience, with each application assessed on its own merit. We also recognise prior learning/attainment (RPL) and experience, meaning it may be possible to map some of your existing qualifications against the modules for the HNC Project and Quality Management qualification.

For students who have recently been in education, we would expect an applicant to have one of the following:
At least two A-levels in an appropriate subject area (equivalent to 72 UCAS points)
BTEC Extended Diploma (or equivalent):
Level 3 in Project and Quality Management or similar discipline at grade MMP or higher
BTEC Diploma (or equivalent):
Level 3 in Project and Quality Management or similar discipline at grade DM or higher
Pass Access Course:
Pass Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in a related subject
An NVQ diploma or equivalent competence based qualification
Applicants with industrial experience will be considered on a case by case basis for this course
IELTS 6.0 (with 5.5 in each skills area)
English and Maths GCSE grade 4 (formerly grade C) or equivalent
3-4 years of industry experience is desirable
We usually consider an A-level in General Studies as a supplementary qualification.
Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications, relevant work or life experience and who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from degree-level studies are considered.
You may need to apply for a Tier 4 visa in order to enter and study in the UK. However, please note that Preston College does not hold a Tier 4 Sponsor Licence to support student visa applications.
