NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 3

This Apprenticeship offers an industry recognised qualification that will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to work as a beauty therapist. The Level 3 qualification will expand on the Level 2 programme to include advanced treatments such as massage, hot stone therapy, Indian head massage and facial electrical treatments.

What will I learn?

This apprenticeship will provide you with the elements to work effectively as a beauty therapist including mandatory units covering the following:facial electrical, body massage, electrical epilation, monitoring procedures in the salon and contributing to the planning of a promotional event. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your understanding and skills by selecting a number of optional specialist units which include: self-tanning, massage with pre-blended oils, Indian head massage and stone therapy. 

How will I be taught?

You will visit College one day per week for theory and practical delivery and the rest of your hours (which generally includes a Saturday) will be spent in the workplace.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed via a mixture of course work, exams, oral questioning, portfolio of evidence and practical demonstrations.

What can I do next?

After achieving your Level 3 qualification, you will be a qualified beauty therapist and be equipped with the necessary skills and qualifications required to secure employment in a beauty salon, leisure club, cruise ship or even as a make-up artist.

Is there anything else I need to know?

You will need to wear your salon uniform to College.

Entry Requirements

All Apprenticeships require an initial assessment, interview and employment in the industry. At Level 3 you will need a Level 2 qualification in the subject. You will need to have good people, dexterity and communication skills as well as a desire to work professionally with the general public.
