Developing Higher Technical Skills for the Future

After 14 years working at Preston College in a variety of roles, Matthew wanted to continue developing his skills and prepare for the next stage of his career. Enrolling on the HNC Construction Management course he saw the opportunity to gain higher-level technical knowledge that would benefit his career development.

Throughout the course, Matthew has developed valuable industry skills, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), AutoCAD, construction legislation and professional research techniques. These higher-level technical skills are helping him build the confidence and knowledge of the very latest construction expertise, while supporting innovation in the workplace.

Alongside developing new technical skills, Matthew has grown in confidence. Once quiet and reserved during group discussions, he now feels comfortable contributing ideas, asking questions and sharing his knowledge with others.
