Career changes often spark a desire to grow, specialise, or strengthen future prospects and Robert is a fantastic example of how returning to education can open new doors.

After previously changing careers, Robert wanted to deepen his knowledge of accounting and gain the professional skills needed to progress with confidence. In 2024, he enrolled on Preston College’s AAT Professional Accounting Technician course, balancing his studies alongside full-time work. Along the way, Robert faced personal challenges, but with determination and the support of his tutors, he remained focused and completed the course to an exceptional standard.

Working in finance, Robert is used to dealing with complex global issues and fast-moving situations. Developing higher-level accounting skills has enabled him to analyse information more effectively, provide professional insights and communicate confidently with stakeholders.
