Make an Online Bursary Application

These instructions are intended to help you make an online bursary application.

Visit https://www.preston.ac.uk/bursary and click the Bursary Application button and choose the academic year you wish to apply for. If you are due to start in September 2022, you will need to choose 2022/23.

  • If you are enrolled and have a Student ID number, complete the ‘Register’ section. If you are not yet enrolled, complete the ‘No Student ID Number’ section which will give you a temporary ID number for the purposes of your bursary application (make a note of this number you’ll need it for later).
  • Set your password – this should be eight or more characters long.
  • Once you register, you can choose to receive an activation link via SMS (text) or email (please check your junk folder in case the email appears in there).
  • If you have chosen SMS you will receive a text with a code which you need to input into the SMS code box. You will then be taken back to the previous page, where you can now complete the ‘Login’ section.
  • Login as instructed, and then on the left hand side of the screen click on ‘Bursary’ then ‘Application’.
  • Complete all the questions in the ‘Eligibility Questions’ section and click ‘Next’ at the bottom of the screen.
  • Upload evidence of your full annual household income in the ‘Evidence of eligibility’ section and then click ‘Next’ at the bottom of the screen. If you have any difficulties uploading your evidence, you can email the documents to studentservices@preston.ac.uk and we will upload them for you. Please note, your application will not be processed without income evidence.
  • Complete the ‘Bank Details’ page with your bank sort code and account number then click ‘Next’.
  • Review your answers on the final page and then scroll down to the bottom to read the declaration. Type your name in the signature box and then click on ‘Submit Application’.

PLEASE NOTE – Higher Education courses, Full Cost courses and Apprenticeships are not eligible for the college bursary. If your course is HE, you will need to apply for support through Student Finance England. Further details are available via the following link https://www.gov.uk/get-undergraduate-student-loan

If you have any problems completing your bursary application, please contact Student Services on 01772 225656.

After you have submitted your application you will still be able to make any necessary changes until it has been approved by Student Services. After this you can log in at any time to check any payments due to you and access any documents that you have been sent.
