Safeguarding our Students

Promoting the welfare of our students and providing a safe environment in which you can achieve your potential is extremely important to us.

We have a Safeguarding, Child Protection and Prevent Policy and a supplementary set of procedures. This includes our obligation under the Prevent Duty (Sept 2015) to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.

To ensure our students stay safe online, we use a series of measures including a fully secured network, online induction and the installation of Smoothwall software on all student PC’s.

Our College Safeguarding Team deals with any safeguarding issues and works with external agencies to promote the welfare of anyone in need of additional support.

Students can talk to their Student Manager or a member of the Safeguarding team.

If you are experiencing any unwanted or threatening behaviour from others, such as sexual harassment, coercion or threats of physical harm, you can speak in confidence to our safeguarding team for support.  This applies to issues both in and outside of college.  You can either email safeguarding@preston.ac.uk or contact Tina, Gemma or Sarah on the mobile phone numbers below.
