Janet is originally from Preston and a business owner, organising trade and consumer events, including exhibitions and conferences within the drinks industry.  She has many years of experience in creating small businesses, establishing collaborative working partnerships and building communities.

She is also a trustee of a charity which runs a community centre in South Manchester. She previously ran a Manchester based comedy short film festival and has won two awards for writing and short film production.
