QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

The apprentices will report to the Quality Control Manager, who will guide them in learning to manage the quality control activities within the laboratory, while beginning to work in collaboration with other departments. First and foremost, apprentices will be composed characters with strong communication skills both written and verbal. Through experience and knowledge, the role holder will work towards upholding the ability to investigate and analyse information and data in a logical and structured way, whilst also gaining the understanding to conform to strict policies, processes and guidelines.


As part of this role, apprentices will gain knowledge and experience of working in the laboratory environment with a range of duties including:


• Analysis of incoming goods and raw materials
• Analysis of finished products, adhering to internal test methods and specifications and also those supplied by external certification bodies i.e. EN 12004
• Accurately recording data in line with Laboratory quality procedures
• Operate laboratory equipment as outlined in laboratory SOPs/Test methods
• Highlight, action and report on non-conformities concerning incoming goods and finished products.
• Correct management of returned product to ensure where applicable materials are recycled and where not possible are disposed of correctly
• Regularly communicating internally in a clear and concise manner
• Confidently communicate through presentation your findings and data analysis, with internal colleagues
both locally and internationally
• Taking responsibility for organising your work load with due regard to safety and accuracy. Ensuring minimal
delay and appropriate prioritisation of samples.
• Assisting with enquiries from internal stakeholders
• General cleaning and maintaining (in particular calibrating) of laboratory equipment and wider laboratory
environment on a regular basis
• Fulfilling ad hoc duties as requested by Quality Control Manager
