Within this qualification, you have the opportunity to gain knowledge of basic computerised bookkeeping routines, which builds on the manual bookkeeping qualification. It covers the documentation and processes related to invoicing and batch processing and making and receiving payments. You will gain an initial insight into both cash and credit business transactions, bank reconciliations, setting up customers and suppliers and other computerised routines.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Units of study:

  • Record routine bookkeeping transactions using a computerised system
  • Prepare and record sales and purchase documents using a computerised system
  • Select VAT scheme
  • Standard/Cash Accounting
  • Stock control and preparation of invoices and credit notes
  • Payments on account
  • Simple corrections
  • Change customer/supplier account, reference, amount

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

You will be taught through a series of classroom based activities that will link theory into practice.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

All learning outcomes will be assessed through an externally set and marked examination.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

The qualification has been designed to provide the essential knowledge, understanding and skills required to complement and enable candidates to progress to related qualifications at Level 2.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Manual bookkeeping is preferable but not essential.
