CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERVISOR - LEVEL 4 NVQ DIPLOMA

The Level 4 NVQ Diploma is ideal for current construction workers who wish to further their knowledge and skills.

This qualification enables you, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in higher level positions within the Building and Civil Engineering sector.

The course is taught through classroom tuition and workshops, with advice and support from leading experts within the industry, ensuring you have all the tools available to reach your full potential.

Completion of the course will provide you with a qualification which is widely recognised by industry.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

You will learn key practical skills and knowledge in a range of mandatory units, including:

  • Maintaining Supplies of Materials to Meet Project Requirements in the Workplace
  • Implementing Communication Systems for Construction Projects in the Workplace
  • Maintaining the Dimensional Accuracy of the Work in the Workplace
  • Contributing to the Control of Work Quantities and Costs in the Workplace
  • Co-ordinating Preparation Work for Site or Lifting Operations in the Workplace
  • Allocating Work and Checking People’s Performance in the Workplace
  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
  • Maintaining Systems for Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Protection in the Workplace
  • Assessing and Recommending Work Methods for Carrying Out Site Operations in the Workplace
  • Planning Activities and Resources to Meet Work Requirements in the Workplace
  • Coordinating and Organising the Control of Work in the Workplace
  • Controlling Work Progress Against Agreed Programmes in the Workplace
  • Allocating and Monitoring the Use of Plant, Equipment or Machinery in the Workplace
  • Controlling Work Against Agreed Standards in the Workplace

HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT?

The course involves classroom tuition and workshops. You will receive support from industry experts to help you meet the requirements of the NVQ.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be assessed through a variety of methods, including:

  • A portfolio, which you create based on your learning in each session and evidence from your workplace
  • Multiple one-to-one onsite assessment visits
  • Assessment workshop (if required)

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

Upon completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area or to confidently enter progress within employment.

Industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

You may also be able to apply for the Gold CSCS card.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

You will need to provide your own safety boots and clothing from the start of course.

You will require also a valid Managerial and Professional (MAP) CSCS Health and Safety test, in order to obtain the full NVQ Diploma and CSCS card. If you do not have one, or if your test was passed more than five years ago, please visit: www.cscs.uk.com

You should be working as a Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Manager in one of these areas:

  • Building and civil engineering
  • Highways maintenance and repair
  • Residential Development
  • Conservation
  • Demolition
