This higher level qualification is designed to develop your knowledge and skills in preparation for senior management roles. It is recognised by employers and universities as evidence of your skills in Civil Engineering.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught through formal lectures delivered by our highly experience tutors. Your learning will be supported by laboratory work, materials testing, surveying fieldwork, field trips, site visits, drawing and design work.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is undertaken through written submission, time-controlled examination and practical activities.

What can I do next?

This qualification is recognised by the Joint Board of Moderators and has been developed to provide opportunities for progression to related undergraduate programmes. It is relevant to the following sectors of the civil engineering industry: Civil Engineering; Structural Engineering; Highway Engineering; Railway Engineering; Public Health Engineering and more.

Is there anything else I need to know?

The course will be delivered at the Fulwood Campus and will run subject to a minimum class size of 10. 

Entry Requirements

You should possess at least one of the following:

National Certificate/Diploma or Extended Diploma in Construction or Civil Engineering; Edexcel Advanced VCE (e.g. in Construction and the Built Environment); City & Guilds FTC 6000; Advanced Diploma/Certificate in Construction; or at least one A-Level pass, with appropriate supporting passes at GCSE grades in at least four subjects including English, Maths and a Science based subject.

Applicants with other qualifications and relevant industrial experience are welcome and will be given careful consideration.
