You may have seen on our social media channels that our buildings are temporarily closed but we would like to assure you that our apprenticeship application and enquiry process is very much open!
We hope that you find all of the information you need on our individual web pages, however please see the below sample of FAQs that we have received over the past week which may help you. Please be assured we are continually working to support each and every one of you, so please so get in touch if you need any further information.
All our current apprentices will be receiving regular communication via emails and from your Work Based Tutor. Please keep checking your student email, OneFile Messages and our social media platforms for portfolio work and regular updates.
If you have any concerns about your employment, please contact your Apprenticeship Training and Support Officer who will be able to advise on the next steps.
Yes. If you are thinking about starting an apprenticeship, we would very much encourage you to apply using our online application form, as this will generate a phone call and/or email from a specialist adviser in your chosen area, who will be able to provide you with more detail on your chosen apprenticeship and advise you of next steps.
We have a suite of live vacancies with local employers who are looking to recruit, plus we are still working with a number of employers to help them recruit an apprentice. So while the journey may take a while longer, we would still love to receive your application to send to our employers for their consideration.
Online applications can be submitted by clicking here https://www.preston.ac.uk/online-application/
Most likely you have completed an application for Preston’s College on our website and indicated you want an apprenticeship. If you haven’t don’t worry, there is still time to do so. Please go to our website and complete an online application. For those of you who have already completed an application you should have completed an interview with our curriculum team. If you haven’t, they will be in contact with you soon to ensure this has been completed. Within the interview they will look to offer you a full time place at the college in addition to a conditional offer for an apprenticeship, as the apprenticeship requires you to be employed by a relevant employer; the full time offer will be there to ensure you have a college place come the start of the academic year. You can then potentially transfer from a full time place onto an apprenticeship at a later date once employment has been secured.
If you have completed your interview, you will be sent a communication shortly to complete your initial assessments, which is done to check suitability for the apprenticeship. From here you will receive further communications to support you with your journey in preparing for an apprenticeship. This will include guidance on CV writing, Interview Techniques and Job Search.
We have a dedicated team that would like to reassure you that your application, no matter at which stage it is up to, is still being processed and while we may not be able to invite you into the college for an assessment, we have put measure in place to do this remotely.
We are working with each and every one of you and our dedicated team will have either been in touch with you or will be in touch over the coming weeks. If you haven’t heard from us please email appsinfo@preston.ac.uk
If you have not already received communications from us regarding your application please contact appsinfo@preston.ac.uk or call 01772 225522.
If you are a current apprentice with us and you have any further question on how the Covid-19 may affect your apprenticeship please email: corona@preston.ac.uk
