Here you can submit your entries for the seven awards that are available for staff nomination. This is a brilliant opportunity to shine a light on someone you know who goes that extra mile to provide an excellent service in whichever area they work.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Celebration on Tuesday 7 July.

Sherpa Award
This award is to celebrate a member of staff who consistently goes above and beyond to guide, support and uplift others, mirroring the trusted role of a Sherpa who helps others to reach great heights. We want to recognise someone who provides exceptional support to colleagues or students; demonstrates reliability, patience and resilience and is a behind the scenes champion, who quietly but powerfully enables the success of the College. An ‘unsung hero’ who might not get credit for successes but without whom those successes would not be possible.
Pride of Preston College
This award is for individuals you feel make a significant contribution to the work of the College. The winner will receive this award for their impact, dedication and commitment to the College. This award is for an employee whose contribution could be sustained, through long service, or exceptional day-to-day commitment that you feel deserves special recognition. This is the person whose selfless and committed nature helps the College to achieve its objectives every day. Pride of Preston College nominations could also be submitted for those members of staff who have gone over and above to ensure continuity of service, or unfaltering support for colleagues and/or students throughout the last academic year.
Business Support Person of the Year
This award is for a business support member of staff that you feel has provided outstanding service throughout the year. This could be from your own experience of working with them, or from compliments/comments received. It could include having exceptional knowledge of their area, always treating others with a friendly, helpful attitude and dealing with requests efficiently and effectively.
Support for Learners Person of the Year
We are looking for nominations for student support staff who go above and beyond to provide the utmost support for students. Someone whose understanding and commitment to our students is evident by the level of support that they provide and who has the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Rising Star of the Year
Is there an apprentice, new starter or an existing member of staff who has recently moved to a different role in your team who you feel has made a significant contribution to your department and has shown talent in the workplace? Are they driven and motivated to succeed – reliable and punctual, proactive, confident and hardworking? Reward their contribution by nominating them in this category.
Most Inspirational Colleague
We are looking for nominations for someone that you feel has been inspirational in some way. This may be in their job role or through a personal achievement (eg fundraising or volunteering etc) or a one-off amazing achievement that has inspired you to do more within your personal life or job role.
Leader of the Year
Nominations for Leader of the Year are sought for leaders that lead by example and have the integrity to do the right thing. Someone who positively influences others, is inspirational and creates an environment where other people feel valued and fulfilled.
