As an Apprentice Dental Nurse you will welcome patients and provide direct support with treatment;
You will build up your practical skills while working alongside dentists and nurses at Station Dental and You will be taught within college on an evening programme (6-9pm) to develop your knowledge. Your role as a dental nurse will be to support the dentist in all aspects of patient care, this includes getting the appropriate instruments ready, mixing materials and ensuring patient comfort. You will also take notes from dentists dictation for records and once the patient has left, the dental nurse tidies the surgery and sterilises all of the instruments.
Additionally, you will assist with reception work - making appointments, taking payments, dealing with paperwork and meeting and reassuring patients. You will also be required to:
To keep surgeries clean and tidy
40 hours, 15 minutes per week.
Good communication skills are essential as you will be required to speak with patients and visitors on a daily basis.
A smart, clean appearance is important for this clinical role.
GCSE Math & English A*- C grade or equivalent. All applicants will attend an initial assessment in English, Maths & IT (if applicable). Applicants may be required to undertake Functional Skills Maths & English alongside their apprenticeship if they do not have GCSE grade D or above.
