Real Work Environments

Real Work EnvironmentsPreston’s College is an Enterprising College which means we place ‘real work’ skills development and learner employability at the forefront of our curriculum offer.  While the traditional classroom still has a role to play in teaching and learning, we fully understand the importance of on-site, industry related workshops and commercial outlets. This enables our learners to learn by interacting with real customers across a range of technical areas from Hair & Beauty, Sport, Catering & Hospitality, Science, Dance, Performing Arts, Engineering and Construction.

iSTEM workshop
Our iSTEM Centre is a state-of-the-art space based on industry standards that is designed and supported by local employers to deliver first class training across a range of disciplines. These include advanced manufacturing and engineering, aerospace design, digital industries, automotive technologies and science.

Learners at Preston’s College will study courses not as individual qualifications but as a set of pathways that reflect the real world and the need for everyone to be able to explore, design, build, test, power, and grow throughout their lives and careers.

The Construction industry is one of the biggest and most rewarding industries in the world. We are proud to be delivering our qualifications in conjunction with our local and regional employers including the Eric Wright Learning Foundation. As such, our construction school is managed as a ‘live’ construction site with industry standards and requirements. Each trade area is simulated around the industry specifications in giving our learners the ideal working environment to practice their skills.

ReVive and Elements
