Today, Preston’s College has supported a pilot scheme with the NHS relating to a new Covid 19 test known as LAMP testing. This is a saliva based test which does not require any throat or nasal swabbing. Tests have been offered throughout the day to our staff and learners, and NHS staff (along with Pepper the Robot) have been onsite to supervise.
The scheme is already used in the NHS as part of a weekly testing regime, but we believe that we are the first education provider in the country to run this pilot. It has given us a real opportunity to provide meaningful feedback that will help decisions to consider any future wide roll out.
A big thank you to everybody who took the time to help with today’s activity.
