Future Pharmacy Professionals Celebrate Success After Completing Apprenticeship
A group of aspiring Pharmacy Technicians is celebrating a major milestone after successfully completing an intensive two-year Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship training programme, bringing them one step closer to joining the profession as registered healthcare professionals.
The 2026 cohort is now completing the final stage of the programme by gathering workplace evidence to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and competencies they have developed throughout their training. This portfolio forms a key part of their final certification and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), officially marking the beginning of their careers as qualified Pharmacy Technicians.
Speaking about the achievements of the cohort, Programme Tutor, Jen Bradshaw says: “I am incredibly proud of every student in the 2026 cohort. Their passion for learning, commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills will undoubtedly make them exceptional Pharmacy Technicians and valuable members of the profession.

I wish each of them every success in their future careers and have no doubt they will continue to achieve great things. The cohort represents a wide range of pharmacy sectors, including NHS Trusts, Specialist Cancer NHS Trusts and Community Pharmacy. Throughout the programme, students have built specialist knowledge within their own workplaces while also learning from one another’s experiences across different healthcare settings. This collaborative approach has given them a broad understanding of pharmacy legislation, professional standards and the diverse roles Pharmacy Technicians play in supporting patient care.
Completing the programme has required students to balance demanding roles in busy pharmacy departments with intensive academic and workplace learning. Their success is a reflection of their resilience, professionalism, excellent time management and unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
As they prepare to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council, members of the cohort are embarking on a range of exciting career opportunities. Graduates are progressing into roles supporting clinical trials within cancer services, specialist heart and lung NHS Trusts, and community pharmacy, while one student will continue their academic journey by studying at university to become a Pharmacist.
The achievements of the 2026 cohort highlight not only their individual dedication but also the vital role Pharmacy Technicians play in modern healthcare. Their knowledge, compassion and professionalism will make a lasting contribution to patients, pharmacy teams and the wider NHS for years to come.
