Ganesh starts work experience!

?? A warm welcome to the newest member of the Preston College Marketing Team – Ganesh! ??

? Ganesh joined Preston College right back in 2017. As a deaf learner and with no English qualifications and limited British Sign Language (BSL), Ganesh has worked his way through a Level 1 Vocational Studies course, the Level 2 Creative Media course and he has just completed two years on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Film and Photography at Preston College! ? He accompanied this with BSL Level 2 and Level 3 and has become fluent in BSL.

Even during lockdown, which was difficult for Ganesh because of the limited face to face interaction, Ganesh continued to work hard. So much so that during his Level 3 programme, Ganesh took part in the Worldskills UK competition – the first deaf person to not only participate, but to win a bronze medal! ?

Completing his Level 3 course, Ganesh had plans to go to university and he independently attended interviews and received no less than five university offers! His contacts within the Deaf film community, a career Ganesh aspires to work in, advised him on ways to progress in the industry, with work experience being a main factor. ?️We are delighted to say that Ganesh is now currently undertaking an extended period of work experience with the Preston College Marketing team for a year!

We are looking forward to the skills and experience Ganesh will bring and he will be a valuable asset to the team. Good Luck Ganesh! ?
