Preston College is delighted to announce that we have retained the We invest in people, Gold accreditation which we first achieved in 2020.
Commenting on the award, Principal and Chief Executive, Simon Nixon says: “This award gives us all a wonderful sense of achievement, and much like our recent Ofsted “Good” outcome, it is clear that this is not simply a retention of a previous grade – it is a stronger Gold than before, with many improvements made. There is every reason to believe that we can now push towards Platinum status in 2026. Everyone at the College should feel proud of their contribution to this, it truly is an all-staff accolade.”
Investors in People (IiP) is the nationally recognised kite mark for people and value-centered organisations. It defines what it takes for an organisation to lead, support and manage people for sustainable success.
Our college is proud to have held Investors in people accreditation for over 20 years.
Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Preston College. Gold accreditation on We invest in people is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places Preston College in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”
Paul adds, “You’re part of a community of people who know how important good work is. And who are doing something about it.”
Preston College believes that the success of our organisation depends on our people. If we make work better for everyone, we make work better for our organisation. And if we do that… we make our community a better place to live, work and study.
Only 26% of organisations achieve gold status, which denotes that every single person is involved in supporting each other and is doing their best to make work better.
Gill Thornton, Head of Human Resources at Preston College says, “Our We invest in people assessment was a great opportunity for us to hear from our staff at the College and we’ve learnt a lot from what they have told us, as well as being delighted to hear that our staff value the efforts made by the College to involve them in all that we do. I’d like to extend my thanks for their contribution and dedication because this is a great achievement for all of us.”
