We are delighted to announce that Preston College has been granted University Centre status by the Department for Education, reinforcing our reputation as a leading provider of higher education, Institute of Technology (IoT) technical courses, apprenticeships and professional courses.
Simon Nixon, College Principal and Chief Executive, says “I am so proud of the hard work and dedication of our college, staff and learners in achieving University Centre status. It reinforces the quality of our higher education teaching and learning, as well as recognising our dedication to providing a high quality learning environment for these learners.”
With small class sizes, dedicated facilities and flexible learning options that fit around existing home or work life commitments, many learners are able to continue to work full-time alongside their studies, enhancing their learner experience and progression opportunities. In fact, 66% of our adult higher education learners achieve high grade success (first class honours or equivalent).
Simon continues, “Gaining the prestigious University Centre status is not only testament to Preston College’s commitment to delivering a competitive higher education provision in partnership with our University partners, but also provides a huge boost for learners in and around the Preston area looking to take their education to the next level.”
Preston College University Centre offers a range of higher education, technical and professional courses and apprenticeships specialising in Construction, Counselling, Engineering, Professional Dance, Teaching and Social and Community Work.
