Description

  • To contribute to a high standard of physical, social and intellectual care for children in the nursery
  • To give support to other personnel within the nursery
  • To implement the daily routine in the base room
  • The safeguard the wellbeing of all children within our care
  • Prepare and complete activities to suit the child’s stage of development linking to their development matters overview with support from the room leader
  • To ensure meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing
  • Ensure all children are clean and free from any unpleasantries
  • Provide comfort and warmth to ill children and ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Ensuring high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds
  • To be flexible within working practices of the nursery and be prepared to help when needed
  • Respect confidentiality of each child
  • Specific child orientate and related tasks
  • To develop your role within the team especially with regard to working as a nursery/ key worker

  • Excellent communicator and team worker who supports daily routines and daily tasks

 

  • A willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

 

  • Demonstrate an awareness of the complaints procedure defusing and resolving or referring potential situations to the nursery

  • Undertaking child observations and working with supervisor to record appropriately

  • The suitable candidate will be of a cheery disposition, willing, helpful and friendly. Essentially this role is ideal for someone who is able to multi task and display their initiative. You must also be punctual and reliable.

Required Qualifications

The employer would like the candidate to have a minimum of grades C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

A worthy candidate who proves themselves could have the opportunity to be employed full time on completion of the Apprenticeship

Other Information

  • Early starts and late finishes as per the nursery rota
  • Children need attentive care and your duties will include washing and changing children as required
  • As a childcare worker you will expect to supervise children and therefore must be prepared to be outdoors regardless of weather conditions
