Preston’s College performing arts department are celebrating the success of four of their promising learners as they accept places at The National Youth Theatre.
The four learners; Harriet Hargreaves, Christopher Forrest, Kaitlyn Maxfield and Millie Quinn were all accepted onto the National Youth Theatre’s programme after a rigorous interview and audition process, back in February 2020. They currently study at Preston’s College in either the Actor Training Academy (ATA) or the Musical Theatre Training Academy (MTTA).
The National Youth Theatre boasts an A-list of celebrity graduates including; Daniel Craig, David Tennant and Dame Helen Mirren, so it’s no surprise that this prestigious company is an excellent advancement for the learners’ education and career prospects.
Jane Tudor, Head of School for Visual & Performing Arts said; “We are absolutely delighted with the news that 4 of our learners have been offered National Youth Theatre places this year. This is all testament to the hard work and dedication of the Performing Arts team who have developed the Actor Training and Musical Theatre Training academies so that we are now being recognised by prestigious institutions such as The National Youth Theatre who came to Preston’s College to carry out a day of auditions just for our learners. This made the auditions much more accessible for our learners by removing travel costs, and the results speak for themselves.”
The learners will continue their courses at their respective training academies at Preston’s College before graduating and moving to the NYT in 2021. When you see their names in lights, remember – you saw it here first!
