Sector Based Work Academies (SBWA) are a fantastic way to source both part-time and full-time staff members.
Our on-site employability team work with local people aged 18+ who are currently out of work and can provide pre-employment training centred around your business needs.
The work will then provide you with a ready made candidate shortlist, complete with staff who have the skills to make an immediate impact in the workplace.
Read how KFC used our SBWA to recruit their staff – some of whom are now within senior positions in the workplace.
What is a Sector Based Work Academy (SBWA)?
Our Sector Based Work Academy is a FREE, full service recruitment solution that allows your business to hire staff against specific business needs.
Lots of organisations struggle to recruit staff in any element of their organisation.
How does a SBWA work?
- Let us know what your business / recruitment needs are
- We source talent from North West referral agencies
- Provide bespoke pre-employment training around employer needs
- Improve employability skills / behaviours
- Screen quality and competency of candidates
- Provide your company with interviewees
- Successful candidates are placed into work
How do we source candidates?
We select talent from a range of well-known referral agencies across the North West, allowing us to source the unemployed and those already in employment, at any level, looking for a career change.
Candidates are given a full breakdown of the opportunity and the employer’s expectations through an ‘attraction event’ where potential candidates are invited to attend.
What’s different from a normal recruitment agency?
All candidates will be screened by Preston’s College during a pre-employment training scheme that is pertinent to your organisation’s needs.
For example, the College would put candidates onto a ‘Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care’ course for a care organisation looking to hire support workers.
Courses can be as short as 3 – 5 days or as long as 2 weeks and are run by industry experienced tutors.
If attrition is a cause for concern, employers can work with us to look at what are the key issues and we can look at a solution.
Programmes can be delivered on-site with an employer or in a preferred location.
Can employers get involved on the course?
Absolutely. We encourage employers to come and talk to the group of candidates, tell them more about the opportunities on offer and also tell us what we should concentrate on for example, customer care skills or hospitality skills.
What does it cost?
Nothing, the service is totally free for employers! All that we ask is for are two things:
- A guaranteed interview for those who complete training
- Interview feedback for unsuccessful candidates
Industries / sectors we support
- Hospitality / Catering
- Professional Services
