Preston’s College Musical Theatre Show wows audiences

Preston’s College Musical Theatre students are celebrating the success of their end of year show, the hit musical, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, based on the Victor Hugo novel with songs from the Disney film.

The show was performed in the College’s unique open air theatre space – the amphitheatre which has recently undergone some renovation work to get it show ready.

The hit show was a sell out two weeks before opening as theatre goers grabbed tickets for this unique theatre experience. With the stage set and the sun shining the MTTA students took their places and delivered an unforgettable show which wowed audiences and sent them to share their thoughts on social media.

Audience members described the show as ‘a wonderful production in a glorious setting’ and ‘a fantastic show.’

Jane Tudor, Head of School for Visual and Performing Arts said “We are incredibly proud of our staff and students who have made this show such a success. From the renovation works completed by our Estates and School of Construction to the Technicians and tutors I would like to say a huge thank you and congratulations on a job well done.”

Rachael Soar, Musical Theatre tutor at Preston’s College added: “End of year shows like this are an important part of our curriculum and give our learners the chance to showcase the skills they have learnt and their amazing talent. I’m delighted to say that a number of our progressing learners are moving on to a top drama schools across the country. It is a testament to all their hard work and commitment during these trying to times to receive these offers and see the amazing comments that people have made.”
