Rachel is Top of the Class

Rachel France - Performing Arts learnerPreston’s College Performing Arts learner Rachel France has been awarded a Bronze Certificate in the national BTEC Performing Arts Student of the Year competition.

Rachel is studying a HNC and impressed the judges with her dedication, hard work and ability to inspire other students to improve their performance skills.

The BTEC Awards celebrate exceptional students and apprentices across the UK and there is a rigorous judging process with entries reviewed by a panel of distinguished judges.

Jane Tudor, Head of School: Visual & Performing Arts said: “Rachel is an outstanding learner and we are delighted that she’s been recognised at the highest level. This is a national award that attracts many entries, especially in the highly contested Performing Arts category.

“Rachel is a delight, she is always committed to producing her best whether that be a performance or theoretical work and she helps drive the quality of the work around her, just through her own contributions and setting an example.”

Rachel, from Preston, comments: “It’s an honour and a surprise to be recognised nationally. I love my course and I’m learning new things all the time so I’ve really progressed as a performer.

“I would love to work in the industry professionally after College, potentially in acting roles so I’m grateful to my tutors for nominating me for this award.“
