We are a leading technical specialist college, rated ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted, taking great pride in supporting both the local community and all of our learners to achieve the qualifications and outcomes they need, whether that be career advancement, further study or preparation for employment. Already working with a host of employers across the wider Lancashire region and working to fulfil key LEP priorities, we have built extensive partnerships with leading businesses, allowing us to address local skills gaps, as we develop confident individuals, equipped with the skills required to meet both regional and economic needs.
We are looking for two governors to join the Corporation Board that would like an opportunity to use, and develop, their professional skills in a board-level environment.
This is a really exciting time to join us at Preston’s College, as we continue to develop the priorities and milestones for years 3-5 of our Five Year Strategic Plan.
Being a governor at an FE College is a hugely rewarding leadership role, providing opportunities to make a real difference and give something back to the local community.
The Corporation Board meets, on average, five times a year and each member also serves on one, or more, of the corporation’s committees (subject to field of expertise). In addition to looking for a new governor, we also welcome applications from those with backgrounds in either audit, risk, further education or estates management to be co-opted to our committees. As our committees meet at least once a term, this is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in supporting the college but currently unable to commit the time to a full board role. Further details of the role, time commitments and support provided, can be found here.
For more details on how to apply, or for an informal chat about the roles available, please contact Clare Rayner, Clerk to the Board, email@example.com Tel 01772 225046.
