Preston’s College are delighted to introduce their Level 3 gifted and talented scholars for the 2018/19 academic year.
After a morning of inductions and ice-breaker activities, the scholarship learners are fully equipped and ready to take up their prestigious role within College.
The new and exciting scholarship programme boasts a number of benefits to high achieving learners, including £1,000 over the period of their course, a free travel pass, an Apple iPad, free College gym membership and much more.
The scholars, who branch across a range of college provision from Professional Construction to Performing Arts, will help to promote the College to prospective learners by getting involved with open evenings and school assemblies.
Each scholar was selected following a formal application and interview process, going head-to-head with dozens of other applicants from across Preston, South Ribble and Chorley.
Preston’s College caught up with Dayana Popa, one of the scholars studying Level 3 Applied Science, when she came to enrol at the College. Dayana said: “I want to become a forensics investigator and I enrolled at Preston’s College to help me develop the skills and knowledge I need to achieve my dream career.
“The facilities at Preston’s College are great which is another reason why I chose to study here. I’m looking forward to learning the skills I need to progress on to my future in forensics.”
Debbie Ireland, head of curriculum at Preston’s College, added: “It was fantastic to meet all of the gifted and talented scholars as a collective. It was evident that they will all be brilliant representatives for their curriculum areas and the wider College.
“Each learner should feel very proud of themselves for being shortlisted for such a highly commended role and I have no doubt that they will go above and beyond as ambassadors for Preston’s College.”
Scholarship applications for academic year 2019/20 are open from 1st October 2018 and are available to any new Year 11 applicant looking to study a full-time Level 3 course in one of our eligible courses, including:
